Two Arrested in Postal Carrier Armed Robbery Spree Across LA, Riverside

Two men, Jose Estevan Chavarria Jr., 28, of Los Angeles, and Luis Alberto Gonzalez, 32, of Victorville, were arrested for their involvement in a series of armed robberies targeting U.S. postal carriers in Los Angeles and Riverside counties. The arrests followed an incident on March 24, 2025, where a postal carrier was robbed at gunpoint in Palm Desert. Investigators identified the suspects after linking them to multiple robberies in Cathedral City and other areas. Both men were apprehended during an unrelated vehicle stop by Burbank police on March 28 and have been booked into the Robert Presley Detention Center. Chavarria’s bail is set at $1 million, while Gonzalez’s bail is $80,000. The ongoing investigation continues to involve collaboration between various law enforcement agencies to ensure public safety.
