Apollo, Bullrock Energy Launch $220 Million Community Solar Venture

Apollo Global Management has announced a joint venture with Bullrock Energy Ventures, committing up to $220 million to develop community solar projects across New York and New England. Of this, $100 million will specifically fund Bullrock's nearly 500 MW pipeline of renewable energy assets, aiming to expand local access to affordable, clean power for residents and businesses. The partnership enables the joint venture to retain ownership of solar projects rather than selling them to finance future developments, enhancing both energy security and economic benefits for local communities. Despite industry challenges such as tariffs, high interest rates, and regulatory delays, both companies highlight community solar's scalability and resilience amid rising electricity demand. Apollo's investment underscores its broader commitment to the energy transition, with the firm having allocated about $58 billion to climate-related projects over the past five years.
