Pedestrian, Vehicle Crashes Cause U.S. Road Closures

A series of serious traffic incidents, including multiple pedestrian-involved crashes and commercial vehicle collisions, have prompted widespread road closures and disruptions across the United States. In Visalia, California, a collision closed Houston Avenue and Rinaldi Street, while a fatal hit-and-run in Clay City, Kentucky, has authorities searching for a 2025 Buick Encore. Elk Grove, California, saw a deadly pedestrian collision on I-5, and a fatal pedestrian crash shut down westbound I-10 in Tucson, Arizona. In Calumet Park, Illinois, all northbound I-57 lanes were closed after a pedestrian was struck and hospitalized, and a pedestrian-involved crash in downtown Savannah, Georgia, led to partial lane closures. Commercial vehicle crashes have also caused major delays in Raleigh, North Carolina, and York County, Pennsylvania. Officials in all affected areas are urging motorists to use alternate routes while investigations are ongoing.
