Mercury Beat Lynx in OT, Series Tied
Phoenix Mercury rallied from a 20-point second-half deficit to beat the Minnesota Lynx 89-83 in overtime, tying the WNBA semifinal series 1-1. Satou Sabally led Phoenix with 24 points (11 in the fourth), while Alyssa Thomas had 19 points, 13 assists and eight rebounds and Sami Whitcomb hit the game-tying 3 at the end of regulation. Napheesa Collier scored 24 on her 29th birthday and Kayla McBride added 21, but Minnesota collapsed late as its bench was heavily outscored and the Lynx went nearly four scoreless minutes in overtime. The comeback is the third-largest in WNBA playoff history and denied Minnesota a 2-0 lead. The series now shifts to Phoenix for Game 3 on Friday.
