Tadej Pogačar Wins Strade Bianche Despite High-Speed Crash
Tadej Pogačar of UAE Team Emirates-XRG secured his third title at Strade Bianche, despite suffering a dramatic crash 50 kilometers from the finish. He lost control on a fast descent, tumbling into a ditch but quickly remounted his bike and rejoined his competition, including Tom Pidcock. After a fierce battle, Pogačar managed to break away from Pidcock 19 kilometers from the finish line, ultimately winning the race with Pidcock finishing second, 1:23 behind. Pogačar's victory ties him with Fabian Cancellara for the most titles in this event, and he will have a section of the race named after him. His teammate, Tim Wellens, rounded out the podium in third place after navigating through the groups formed after the lead battle. Pogačar's resilience and tenacity were on full display as he overcame the crash to claim the win.
