Daimler Truck to Produce Mercedes-Benz eActros 600

Daimler Truck is set to begin production of its first fully-electric heavy truck, the Mercedes-Benz eActros 600, in November, having already secured 2,000 orders. The company aims for half of its European sales to come from electric trucks by 2030, with plans to sell up to 30,000 electric trucks by then. Despite the ambitious goals, the trucking industry faces challenges, including high production costs and a lack of charging infrastructure. Meanwhile, Mercedes-Benz India has launched the locally assembled EQS 580 4MATIC, expanding its electric vehicle offerings in the country, where demand for electric vehicles is growing. This move aligns with the government's Make-in-India initiative and positions India as the first market outside the U.S. to produce this SUV. The overall penetration of electric vehicles in Mercedes-Benz's sales has doubled to 5% in the first half of the year.
