Sony Pictures Sets Release Date for Until Dawn Film

Sony Pictures has announced that the film adaptation of the horror video game 'Until Dawn' will be released in theaters on April 25, 2025. Directed by David F. Sandberg, the film features an ensemble cast including Ella Rubin, Michael Cimino, Ji-young Yoo, Belmont Cameli, Odessa A’zion, Maia Mitchell, and Peter Stormare, who reprises his role from the game. The screenplay, revised by Gary Dauberman, shifts away from the interactive game's choice-driven narrative to a more straightforward horror storyline. The film aims to honor the horror genre with an R-rated approach, paralleling the original game's plot of friends facing a mysterious killer at a remote retreat. This project marks Sandberg's return to horror after his work on the 'Shazam!' films, and it is produced by a team including Dauberman and Sandberg himself. The movie's release is strategically timed to coincide with the 10th anniversary of the game.
