The Cure Announces New Album, Releases 'Alone'

The Cure has released 'Alone,' their first new song in 16 years, ahead of their upcoming album 'Songs of a Lost World' set to be released on November 1, 2024. The single, inspired by Ernest Dowson's poem 'Dregs,' is characterized by its lengthy instrumental intro and Robert Smith's melancholic lyrics, reminiscent of the band's iconic 'Disintegration' album. Smith explained that 'Alone' was the key to unlocking the album, marking a return to The Cure’s classic sound after a long hiatus. The new album follows their 2022-2023 tour and induction into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 2019. Fans can pre-order the album and get a preview of another track, 'Endsong.'
