Saia Partners with Tesla for Semi Trucks

Saia, Inc. has announced a partnership with Tesla to integrate two Tesla Semi trucks into its fleet, marking a significant step as the company celebrates its 100th anniversary. This collaboration underscores Saia's commitment to sustainability and innovation in the logistics sector, as the Tesla Semi is expected to enhance operational efficiency while reducing emissions. Saia's Executive Vice President, Patrick Sugar, highlighted the positive results from earlier testing, showcasing the truck’s power, efficiency, and driver-friendly design. The trucks demonstrated an impressive performance of 1.73 kWh per mile during evaluations, indicating their potential for both local and long-haul applications. This move aligns with industry trends, as other firms like DHL and PepsiCo are also adopting Tesla Semis to modernize their fleets. Saia operates over 214 terminals and employs more than 15,000 people across the U.S.
