Alsip Man Charged with Felonies After Chicago Police Chase Injures Officer

William Warrior, a 29-year-old man from Alsip, Illinois, has been charged with multiple felonies and misdemeanors after an incident in Chicago's Chatham neighborhood where he allegedly struck a Chicago police officer and a marked police vehicle while fleeing a reported gun call. The event occurred when police responded to a report of a person with a gun, and Warrior was seen entering a Chevy Impala before attempting to evade officers. During his escape, Warrior hit a police car and injured an officer, who was hospitalized but is reported to be in good condition. Warrior was apprehended approximately ten minutes later in the 4100 block of South Indiana Avenue. He faces felony charges including aggravated battery to a peace officer, criminal damage to government property, and aggravated fleeing and eluding, along with several misdemeanors such as reckless driving, operating an uninsured vehicle, and driving on a revoked license. Warrior is scheduled to appear at a detention hearing on November 3.
