Brewers Place Reliever Anderson On 15-Day Injured List

The Milwaukee Brewers placed reliever Grant Anderson on the 15-day injured list due to tendinitis in his right ankle, with the move retroactive to Sunday. Anderson, who has appeared in 57 games this season, holds a 2.87 ERA and 66 strikeouts over 62 2/3 innings, but it remains uncertain if he will be ready to return when eligible on September 8. In response, the Brewers recalled pitchers Easton McGee and Tobias Myers from Triple-A Nashville and optioned Chad Patrick back to Nashville. Manager Pat Murphy also noted that outfielder Jackson Chourio is nearing a return from the injured list as he recovers from a strained right hamstring, having begun a rehabilitation assignment last Friday. McGee has struggled with a 7.36 ERA in seven appearances for Milwaukee but has performed well in the minors, while Myers has a 3.90 ERA in 12 major league games this season. Patrick recently started a game for the Brewers, striking out seven over 5 1/3 innings in a 4-3 loss to the San Francisco Giants.
