Two Police Officers Shot in Missouri, Kentucky Suspects Arrested
Thomas Eugene Tolbert, 27, has been arrested in Ellis, Kansas, after allegedly shooting a Lee's Summit police officer responding to a domestic disturbance. Tolbert fired multiple shots, injuring the officer who is currently hospitalized. He faces multiple charges including first-degree assault, armed criminal action, unlawful possession of a firearm, resisting arrest, and second-degree domestic assault. The Kansas Bureau of Investigation, along with local law enforcement, safely apprehended Tolbert early Tuesday morning at a hotel. The Blue Alert issued for Tolbert was canceled following his capture. Authorities plan to hold a press conference to provide further updates on the case and the officer’s condition.
