Investigation Finds Ex-Jeffco Schools Chief Purchased Child Pornography, No Contact With Minors

Weiss was terminated in December 2024 following a tip from a financial brokerage firm, which led to a search warrant and the confiscation of his electronic devices for forensic analysis. Despite the investigation continuing after his suicide in Maryland shortly after his dismissal, authorities found no evidence linking him to criminal contact with juveniles. The school district cooperated fully with law enforcement due to Weiss's access to children and school electronics. Weiss had served as chief of schools since 2022, previously working as a principal and community superintendent within the district. The investigation's findings were released publicly months after his death, clarifying the extent of his criminal activity.
