Blitzer nears sale of RSL, Utah Royals to Miller family

Billionaire David Blitzer is reportedly in advanced negotiations to sell controlling stakes in MLS's Real Salt Lake and NWSL's Utah Royals to the Larry H. Miller family, previous owners of the NBA's Utah Jazz. Blitzer, who acquired the teams in 2022, is expected to retain a minority ownership stake post-sale. The valuation of Real Salt Lake is estimated at $525 million and the Royals at $70 million, although no official sale price has been disclosed. The Miller family previously expressed interest in purchasing the teams when Blitzer acquired them, following the controversial tenure of former owner Dell Loy Hansen.
