15-Year-Old Charged in Detroit Mother's Shooting

Anthony Deshawn Sneed, a 15-year-old from Clinton Township, has been charged with felony murder among other serious charges in connection with the fatal shooting of 42-year-old Tasneen Sherrod and the injury of her 15-year-old son in Detroit. Sneed allegedly stole a handgun from Sherrod's son during a physical altercation and opened fire, subsequently turning himself in after fleeing the scene. He will be tried as an adult and his arraignment is scheduled for Wednesday. In a separate incident, Tiara Shardae Taylor, 38, faces a felony charge for violating Michigan's safe storage law after her 3-year-old son accidentally shot himself with an unsecured handgun. The child has been released from the hospital, and Taylor's arraignment took place on Sunday with a follow-up court date set for Sept. 17.
