Prior to her disappearance, Kobayashi sent alarming and atypical text messages indicating she felt unsafe and that someone might be attempting to steal her identity. Her family believes she could have been lured or possibly drugged, emphasizing that the texts did not sound like her usual communication style. Authorities, including the FBI, are assisting in the investigation as the family focuses their search efforts around the Pico Metro Station.
