Sarita Bahdauriya, a 61-year-old BJP MLA from Etawah, fell onto the railway tracks while attempting to wave the green flag for the Agra-Varanasi Vande Bharat Express during its flag-off event on Monday. The incident occurred on a crowded platform around 6 p.m., shortly after Prime Minister Narendra Modi virtually inaugurated the train. Video footage showed a chaotic scene as supporters jostled for position, causing the MLA to be pushed off the platform just as the train was departing. Fortunately, bystanders stopped the train in time, and Bhadauriya was quickly rescued and later examined by doctors, reporting no visible injuries. The operational date for the Vande Bharat Express is expected to be announced soon, with the journey estimated to take about seven hours. Eyewitnesses confirmed that the MLA is now resting at home following the incident.
