The problem, which began on September 14, resulted in frequent application crashes and malfunctioning features such as Google Discover and Voice Search. Users reported receiving error messages and were advised to clear their app cache and data as a temporary workaround, while Google confirmed it was working on a fix. Despite the disruptions, other Google services, including Google Assistant and access to google.com via Chrome, remained unaffected. Google acknowledged the issue and provided updates on its status page, indicating that the service was stabilizing but still required attention. Downdetector recorded over 7,000 reports related to the problem, highlighting the scale of the outage.
