Second Man Charged in Chichester Murder

David Hallatt, a 57-year-old tiler from South Yorkshire, was fatally assaulted outside the Dolphin and Anchor pub in Chichester on June 20. Despite attempts at CPR by police and paramedics, he was pronounced dead at the scene shortly after the attack, which occurred around 11pm. Dyce Barnfield, 31, has been charged with murder after initially being arrested on suspicion of affray; he is scheduled to appear in Brighton Magistrates Court. Kieran Egan, 30, who was arrested at the scene, also faces murder charges and has pleaded not guilty. The Hallatt family described him as a devoted family man, highlighting their loss following his violent death.
