Depp's 'Modi' Premieres at San Sebastian

Johnny Depp's latest directorial project, 'Modi, Three Days on the Wing of Madness,' recently premiered at the San Sebastian Film Festival. The film depicts 72 tumultuous hours in the life of the bohemian artist Amedeo Modigliani in war-torn Paris in 1916. Depp, who last directed a film in 1997, spoke about his connection to Modigliani's unconventional and rebellious spirit. The film's production was brought to Depp by Al Pacino, who long desired to adapt a play about Modigliani into a film. Depp's decision to direct was influenced by his own artistic sensibilities and the encouragement of Pacino and producer Barry Navidi. The film stars Riccardo Scamarcio as Modigliani, with a cast including Al Pacino, Stephen Graham, and Antonia Desplat.
