Bucks County Piano Teacher Charged with Assault on Young Students

Timothy James Shay, a 49-year-old piano instructor from Doylestown, Pennsylvania, has been charged with multiple counts of indecent assault of minors and corruption of minors. The charges stem from allegations that Shay sexually abused at least four young boys during private piano lessons held in their homes between the late 1990s and early 2000s. Shay reportedly used massages as a pretext for the abuse, claiming they were necessary for piano warm-ups, and instructed victims not to disclose the incidents. He is currently held at Bucks County Correctional Facility with a $1 million bail, and authorities fear there may be additional victims, urging them to come forward. The investigation began after a report was made to the state's ChildLine system, and officials continue to seek more information from potential victims. Bucks County District Attorney Jennifer Schorn has described Shay as a predator who exploited his position of trust to commit these acts.
