Seventeen Killed in South Africa Mass Shootings
Seventeen people, including 15 women, were shot dead in two tragic mass shootings in Lusikisiki, Eastern Cape, South Africa, on Friday night. The victims were targeted in two different houses within the same neighborhood, with 13 killed in one location and four in another; an 18th person is in critical condition. A manhunt is underway for the suspects, as police have not yet determined a motive for the attacks. This incident follows a similar mass shooting in April that left ten family members dead in KwaZulu-Natal. South Africa's high homicide rates, which exceed 27,000 annually, highlight the growing violence in the nation. Officials are urging community members to assist in the investigation as they work to apprehend those responsible for this heinous crime.
