The Bangladesh Cricket Board has announced a 15-member squad for the upcoming T20I series against India, featuring the recall of spin-bowling all-rounder Mehidy Hasan Miraz after a 14-month absence from the format. Joining him are opener Parvez Hossain Emon and left-arm spinner Rakibul Hasan, while notable absentees include Shakib Al Hasan, who has retired from T20Is, and Soumya Sarkar. Chief Selector Gazi Ashraf Hossain emphasized the need for Mehidy to adapt his role, as he has underperformed in T20 cricket historically, with a batting average of 14.58. The series, consisting of three matches, is set to begin on October 6 in Gwalior, followed by games in New Delhi and Hyderabad. This series marks Bangladesh's first without Shakib and comes on the heels of a disappointing Test series against India, where they lost the first match by 280 runs. The last T20I series between these teams in India was in 2019, which Bangladesh lost 2-1.
