BBC Radio Stations Raise £70,000 for Charity

BBC radio stations across the UK have participated in The Thousand Mile Challenge, a charity event for Children in Need, with each station swimming 24 miles. The challenge included teams from BBC Radio Stoke, BBC Radio Berkshire, and BBC Radio Oxford, where participants shared personal achievements and overcame challenges. Paralympian Maisie Summers-Newton supported efforts at Mounts Baths, and Olympic swimmer Oliver Morgan provided advice to BBC Radio Shropshire's team. The collective effort raised over £70,000, showcasing teamwork and dedication, with participants like Dan from BBC Radio Oxford finding inspiration to learn swimming for the first time. The event highlighted community spirit, with many teams exceeding expectations and receiving donations from motivated supporters.
