Dougray Scott Leads BBC Crookhaven Adaptation Early 2026
Dougray Scott stars as Caspian Lockett, the headmaster of Crookhaven, a secretive school for crooks where students develop their skills to use them for good, in the upcoming BBC drama series Crookhaven. The show, based on J.J. Arcanjo's global book series and created for television by Justin Young, features an ensemble cast including Claire Forlani as Carmen, Caspian’s wife, and young actors such as Amari Bacchus, who plays Ade Okoro, one of the talented students, alongside his twin brother played by Sani Thabo. The series centers on the rivalry between students with different backgrounds competing for the Crooked Cup while confronting a mysterious enemy known as The Nameless. The cast also includes Lucas Leach as Gabriel Avery, the main protagonist, Carmel Laniado as Penelope, the headmaster’s daughter, and other notable actors from acclaimed shows like Adolescence, The Witcher, and Heartstopper. Produced by BBC Studios Kids & Family Productions and commissioned by BBC Children’s & Education, Crookhaven is scheduled to premiere on BBC iPlayer early next year and aims to deliver a thrilling family drama with intrigue, wit, and surprising plot twists. BBC executives express strong confidence in the adaptation’s broad appeal and high production value.
