U.S. Communities Mobilize for Hurricane Helene Relief

Communities across the United States are mobilizing significant relief efforts for those affected by Hurricane Helene. In Georgia, Walthourville is organizing a relief drive with the American Legion, while Johnston County in North Carolina is sending truckloads of supplies to the western parts of the state. In Northern Virginia, Loudoun County residents are collecting and flying donations to North Carolina, and Groton businesses in Connecticut also gather supplies. The Tampa Bay Rays and Rowdies have pledged $1 million to support recovery efforts in Florida, and the Red Cross has deployed over 900 members nationwide to affected areas. Additional efforts include a food truck owner from Ohio planning to deliver meals to Asheville, and a group from Lindenhurst, Long Island, collecting specific supplies requested by local authorities in North Carolina.
