Canada Wholesale, Manufacturing Sales Rise July

Canadian wholesale trade increased by an estimated 1.3% in July 2025 compared to June, driven primarily by higher sales in the motor vehicle and motor vehicle parts and accessories subsector, according to Statistics Canada's flash estimate based on a 63.6% weighted response rate. Meanwhile, Canada's manufacturing sales are expected to have risen 1.8% in July, accelerating from a modest 0.3% gain in June, led by growth in the transportation equipment and petroleum and coal product subsectors. This marks the strongest monthly increase in manufacturing sales since October 2024, suggesting a modest turnaround following a period of sluggish activity. Both wholesale and manufacturing sales figures are seasonally adjusted, reflecting improving economic activity in key industrial sectors.
