Prime Video plans four-part Murder In The Dark series starring Michael Falch
Amazon Prime Video is developing a four-part mystery thriller series titled "Murder in the Dark," based on Danish author Dan Turèll's novels. The show stars musician and actor Michael Falch, reprising his role from the 1986 film adaptation, alongside a cast including Alex Høgh Andersen and Katinka Lærke Petersen. The plot follows a retired, hard-bitten nameless journalist and his daughter, an ambitious police detective, who team up to solve a series of murders beginning with the brutal killing of a lawyer tied to a tell-all book. Set in a modern-day Copenhagen, the series captures the dark, gritty, and noir atmosphere of Turèll's work, blending crime thriller elements with dark humor and a diverse cast of characters. The production is a collaboration between Amazon MGM Studios and SAM Productions, directed by Christian E. Christiansen, with filming currently underway in Copenhagen. The series is scheduled for release on Prime Video in 2026.
