Masdar Advances 1GW Solar, Offshore Wind, Storage in Azerbaijan, Europe

Masdar is actively expanding its global renewable energy footprint through multiple strategic initiatives and partnerships. In Azerbaijan, Masdar is developing the largest utility-scale solar projects with JA Solar supplying one gigawatt of high-efficiency PV modules, expected to generate significant clean electricity and reduce carbon emissions. In Europe, Masdar has signed a memorandum of understanding with EnBW to jointly develop offshore wind farms and battery energy storage systems in the North Sea and Baltic Sea, supporting ambitious renewable targets in Germany and the UK, while also exploring green hydrogen projects. Masdar also hosted a high-level energy forum in Madrid to accelerate its growth in the Iberian Peninsula, marked by its acquisition of Saeta and a major partnership with Endesa for a large renewable energy portfolio in Spain. Additionally, Masdar and Siemens Energy have partnered with Universiti Malaysia Sarawak to advance sustainable energy research and innovation, reflecting Masdar’s commitment to global clean energy collaboration and technology development.
