Apple TV+ Premieres KPOPPED Featuring Western, K-Pop Collaborations

Apple TV+ launched a groundbreaking musical competition series called KPOPPED, which premiered on August 29, 2025. The show features collaborations between iconic Western pop legends like Patti LaBelle, Boyz II Men, and the Spice Girls' Mel B and Emma Bunton, and leading K-pop groups such as ATEEZ, ITZY, and BLACKSWAN. Instead of a traditional competition, KPOPPED emphasizes cultural exchange and mutual respect, showcasing how music bridges generations and continents through reimagined hit songs. Each episode includes performances, behind-the-scenes footage, and tours of Korean culture, with the studio audience voting for their favorite team purely for bragging rights. The idea originated from a meeting between music legend Lionel Richie and CJ ENM’s vice-chairwoman Miky Lee, aiming to celebrate the global power of music and the synergy between Western and K-pop artists. Hosted by Soojeong Son with appearances by PSY and Megan Thee Stallion, the eight-episode series highlights the artistry and discipline of K-pop alongside the legacy of Western pop.
