Jeff Beck's Guitar Collection to Be Auctioned

Christie's auction house is set to sell over 130 items from the collection of legendary guitarist Jeff Beck, who passed away in January 2023 at the age of 78. Among the featured items is his iconic 1954 'Oxblood' Gibson Les Paul, estimated to fetch between £350,000 and £500,000, which was prominently displayed on the cover of his 1975 album 'Blow By Blow'. Beck's widow, Sandra Beck, expressed her hope that the future owners of these instruments will connect with the genius of her late husband, emphasizing his desire for the guitars to be played and cherished again. Other notable instruments include a vintage Fender Stratocaster and a 1958 Gibson Les Paul valued up to £60,000. The auction will be held on January 22, 2024, with highlights previewed in Los Angeles and London beforehand. Beck's remarkable career spanned decades, earning him a reputation as one of rock's greatest guitarists, known for his unique sound and improvisational skills.
