Cases of whooping cough, or pertussis, are surging globally, with significant increases reported in the U.S., Canada, and Australia. Shawano-Menominee Counties in Wisconsin and New Brunswick have confirmed outbreaks, with New Brunswick reporting 141 cases this year compared to an annual average of 34. The U.S. has seen over 10,000 cases so far, more than triple last year's numbers. In Australia, cases have spiked to over 21,000, the highest since 2015.
