Volt14 Raises $1.87M for Silicon Anode Tech Expansion

Indian battery tech startup Volt14 has raised $1.87 million in a pre-Series A round led by Blume Ventures, with participation from Beyond Next Ventures, Spectrum Impact, Supermorpheus, and Cocoon Capital, bringing its total funding to $4.02 million. The new capital will be used to scale up manufacturing of Volt14’s proprietary silicon-rich anodes and expand its workforce. Founded in 2019 by materials scientist and Forbes 30 Under 30 honoree Animesh Kumar Jha, Volt14 develops advanced silicon-based anode materials that significantly boost lithium-ion battery energy density, extending battery life for consumer electronics and electric vehicles. The company has also created an in-house cylindrical battery cell format to showcase its technology and is engaging with multiple battery cell manufacturers for adoption. Volt14’s advancements align with the rapid global growth of the lithium-ion battery market, which is projected to exceed $300 billion by 2034, driven largely by EV adoption and renewable energy storage needs. The startup is positioning itself as a key player in the electrification trend through its scalable, high-performance battery technology.
