Eight Hospitalized After Chemical Incident in Thetford

Eight individuals were hospitalized after inhaling fumes at Easy Cleaning Solutions, a chemical factory in Thetford, Norfolk, prompting a significant emergency response. Emergency services, including four ambulances and three Hazardous Area Response Team vehicles, were dispatched following reports of workers feeling unwell at around 8:15 am. A total of 20 people were assessed on-site, with eight transported to West Suffolk Hospital for further examination; all have since been discharged. This incident echoes a previous evacuation of the factory in 2019 due to a chemical fire. The Health and Safety Executive is currently investigating the incident, and Norfolk Police assisted in the emergency response. The factory employs over 200 people and produces various cleaning products, including bleach.
