Fire Erupts on Russian Plane in Antalya
A Russian Sukhoi Superjet 100 operated by Azimuth Airlines caught fire after landing at Antalya Airport in Turkey on Sunday, prompting the evacuation of 89 passengers and six crew members. Dramatic footage showed terrified passengers fleeing the burning aircraft, with the fire originating from the left engine. The incident occurred under adverse weather conditions, as the Turkish State Meteorological Service had issued a severe weather warning prior to the landing. Fortunately, all individuals on board were safely evacuated with no reported injuries, according to Suat Seyitoglu, deputy governor of Antalya. Firefighting crews quickly extinguished the flames, and normal airport operations resumed shortly after the aircraft was moved from the runway. Russia's aviation authority, Rosaviatsiya, is investigating the incident.
