Michael Mann to Receive 2025 Lumière Award

Michael Mann, the celebrated American filmmaker known for classics such as Heat, The Last of the Mohicans, The Insider, and Collateral, will receive the Lumière Award at the 17th Lumière Festival in Lyon, France. The festival will take place from October 11 to 19, with Mann set to accept the award in person on October 17. Mann joins past honorees such as Martin Scorsese, Clint Eastwood, Jane Fonda, and Isabelle Huppert, and the Institut Lumière highlighted his collaborations with renowned actors like Al Pacino, Robert De Niro, and Daniel Day-Lewis. He has made significant contributions to both film and television, including Miami Vice and Tokyo Vice. Mann expressed excitement about receiving the honor and recalled a previous visit to the festival in 2017. His recent projects include the biopic Ferrari, and he is preparing to direct Heat 2, the sequel to his iconic 1995 film.
