Chicago Restaurant Donates 80–100 Meals Daily

Family-owned and immigrant-founded restaurants across the U.S. are showcasing and preserving Hispanic and Latin American cuisines during Hispanic Heritage Month, from Venezuelan-run Jibaritos y Más in Chicago to Peruvian lomo saltado at Don Lucho's in Seattle and Chinese–Puerto Rican fusion at Michy's Chino Boricua in North Texas. Jibaritos y Más prepares and donates 80–100 scratch-made meal boxes daily to neighbors in Humboldt Park, demonstrating a strong community focus beyond regular service. Other local favorites highlighted include Colombian arepas, Mexican empanadas and takeout in New Hampshire and The Chori-Man in San Pedro, which draws long lines for home-style chorizo and burritos.
