Gisele Pelicot Testifies Against Husband in Rape Trial

Gisele Pelicot, a 71-year-old French woman, testified in court that police saved her life by uncovering a decade of sexual abuse orchestrated by her husband, Dominique Pelicot, who admitted to enlisting dozens of strangers to rape her while she was drugged. During her emotional testimony in Avignon, she described how, after years of mysterious health issues and memory lapses, investigators revealed videos of the abuse filmed by her husband, leading to her devastation. 'My world is falling apart. Everything I have built up over 50 years,' she stated, highlighting the horror of the images shown to her. Pelicot, who initially regarded her husband as a 'super guy,' emphasized the brutality of the acts, asserting they were not consensual but constituted rape.
