Singh clarified that only the pedestal work has been completed, and the actual statue, crafted by renowned sculptor Ram Sutar, is still under construction with oversight from IIT Bombay. The project, which has a budget exceeding Rs 40 crore, involves transporting bronze parts from a foundry in Delhi, and the assembly will begin once all components are onsite. The NCP party has protested against the statue's collapse in Malvan, demanding accountability. Singh urged citizens to disregard the misinformation, reinforcing that the work is ongoing and under careful evaluation. The statue is set to be prominently displayed near the Pune-Nashik highway, enhancing local pride.
