In 1996, Californian anthropologist Jerry Freeman undertook a covert, week-long trek through restricted Nevada desert, retracing the path of 1849 gold-seeking pioneers. During his journey, which required nighttime travel to evade security at the Area 51 military facility, Freeman reported witnessing a mysterious event near Papoose Lake—a site rumored to conceal a secret alien spacecraft hangar known as 'S-4.' He described seeing a doorway appear in mid-air, emitting a blue light before vanishing, and observed security lights and unusual lights opening and closing near the lake’s center. Freeman also felt strong vibrations, likening them to an earthquake, and speculated these might be from underground tests or activity at nearby Groom Lake.
