Two Romanian Men Charged in Journalist Stabbing

Two Romanian men, Nandito Badea (19) and George Stana (23), have been arrested and charged in connection with the stabbing of Iranian journalist Pouria Zeraati outside his home in Wimbledon on March 29. The investigation, led by the Metropolitan Police's counter-terrorism command, suggests Zeraati was targeted due to his critical reporting for Iran International, a media organization opposed to the Iranian regime. The suspects were detained in Romania earlier this month and extradited to the UK, where they face charges of wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm. Zeraati sustained a leg injury but returned to work shortly after the attack, expressing his commitment to continue his journalistic duties. Officials have urged the public to avoid speculation as the case progresses through the legal system. The suspects are scheduled to appear at Westminster Magistrates' Court on December 18.
