A tragic chain-reaction crash in Richardson resulted in the deaths of three individuals, including 19-year-old college student Aliyah Khalid from Nashville, who was in Texas for a wedding. The incident began when a Cadillac SUV stalled in the HOV lane of U.S. 75, leading to a series of collisions involving a Lexus SUV and a Dodge sedan, while several passengers had exited the Cadillac to wait for assistance. Khalid was struck and killed at the scene, while 27-year-old Haley Taylor and her 6-year-old daughter succumbed to their injuries later at the hospital. Seven others were injured, including Khalid's siblings, one of whom is being hailed as a hero for attempting to save others from the oncoming vehicles. The crash caused significant traffic disruptions, closing the southbound lanes of the expressway for over eight hours as clean-up crews worked. Richardson police are continuing their investigation into the incident.
