Hit-and-Runs Kill Women in Clifton, Brooklyn
Three separate hit-and-run incidents were reported over the weekend in northern New Jersey and New York. In Clifton, New Jersey, 20-year-old Kamaya Young was found unresponsive near the Exit 9 entrance ramp to Route 3 West at about 8:12 a.m.; officers found vehicle debris nearby and Young was pronounced dead, and authorities ask anyone with information to contact the Passaic County Prosecutor’s Office at 1-877-370-PCPO or [email protected]. In Brooklyn’s Sunset Park, a 75-year-old woman identified by one outlet as Judith Byron was struck near Seventh Avenue and 41st Street after a driver ran a red light while she had the walk signal; she was taken to Maimonides Medical Center and pronounced dead, and police say the driver fled in a silver SUV with no arrests. About five hours later in Jamaica, Queens, a Toyota Sienna reportedly struck a man, leaving him in critical condition with broken ribs; that driver also fled and remains at large.
