HX Expeditions Launches Largest Kayaking, Camping Program Antarctica

HX Expeditions is launching the largest and most diverse kayaking and camping program in Antarctica starting October 2025, with a 188% increase in kayaking capacity and double the camping spots to accommodate up to 60 guests per night. The program introduces new solo traveler options that do not require a partner, and features innovative gear such as inflatable 'Discovery Kayaks' and lightweight Scandinavian bivvy bags. Designed by Karin Strand, VP of Expeditions Development, the expanded offerings aim to provide flexible, intimate, and responsible experiences while adhering strictly to environmental regulations and IAATO guidelines, of which HX is a founding member. The company is also replacing its previous lottery system with a first-come, first-served booking system, with plans for pre-booking in future seasons. HX Expeditions continues to emphasize environmental stewardship and personalized adventure, allowing guests to safely explore Antarctica’s pristine landscapes and wildlife in small groups.
