SharpLink Names Ex-BlackRock Exec as Co-CEO
SharpLink Gaming, one of the world's largest corporate holders of Ethereum (ETH), has appointed Joseph Chalom, former head of digital assets strategy at BlackRock, as its new co-CEO. Chalom played a key role in launching BlackRock’s iShares Ethereum Trust, which has surpassed $10 billion in assets, and brings deep experience in institutional digital asset adoption. SharpLink holds approximately 360,807 ETH, valued at over $1.3 billion, as part of its aggressive treasury strategy. Current CEO Rob Phythian will become president and remain on the board. Chairman Joseph Lubin, co-founder of Ethereum, described Chalom’s appointment as validation of SharpLink’s vision to bridge traditional finance with blockchain technology. The company is positioning itself as a significant player in decentralized finance and digital asset infrastructure.
