Lola Young Leads Ivor Novello Award Nominations with Three Recognitions

Singer-songwriter Lola Young leads the 2025 Ivor Novello Awards nominations, securing three nods in her first year of recognition: Best Album for 'This Wasn't Meant for You Anyway,' Best Song Musically and Lyrically for her viral hit 'Messy,' and the Rising Star Award. 'Messy' achieved notable success, reaching No. 1 in the UK and topping charts internationally, with over 500 million Spotify streams. Young faces competition from Charli XCX, Ghetts, Jordan Rakei, and BERWYN in the Best Album category, while her collaborator Conor Dickinson and artists such as RAYE and Jade also received multiple nominations. The Ivors, highly respected in the UK music industry for celebrating songwriting excellence, will announce winners at a ceremony in London on May 22.
