Lawsuit Accuses Top Rank Exec of Concealing Kinahan Deal from ESPN, Arum
A lawsuit filed by boxing manager William Keane accuses Todd duBoef, president of Top Rank Boxing, of concealing a deal with alleged crime boss Daniel Kinahan to promote Tyson Fury fights. The claims suggest duBoef instructed Keane to keep the agreement secret from ESPN and even from his stepfather, Top Rank CEO Bob Arum. According to the lawsuit, Kinahan underwrote the financial arrangements for Fury's rematch against Deontay Wilder, with duBoef allegedly desperate to secure high-profile bouts due to a $90 million media rights agreement with ESPN. The suit alleges that if ESPN discovered Kinahan's involvement, it could jeopardize their partnership, prompting duBoef to pay Kinahan under the table as a consultant. This revelation comes in light of Kinahan's ties to organized crime, which have led to him being sanctioned by the US Treasury. The lawsuit seeks over $25 million in unpaid fees from Top Rank and duBoef.
