Separate Shootings in Wichita and South Bend

Two separate shootings occurred recently, one in Wichita, Kansas, and another in South Bend, Indiana. In Wichita, a person was critically injured in a shooting on the 3200 block of E. MacArthur Rd, with police responding around 3:15 p.m. and finding a victim with a chest gunshot wound. In South Bend, a woman named Cynthia Yoder was paralyzed after being shot outside the United States Bankruptcy Court on South Michigan Street; her boyfriend, Juan Moreno, was charged in connection with the incident. Moreno claimed the gun went off accidentally during a hug, but surveillance footage and court documents contradicted his story. Both incidents are under active police investigation, with no ongoing public threat reported in South Bend.
