NYC Teacher Arrested for Thousands of Child Porn Images

Ross Lanvin, a 41-year-old middle school teacher from New York City, has been arrested and charged with possessing thousands of images and videos of child pornography. The investigation began in December 2024 after Google reported Lanvin's fake account containing explicit content to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children. Law enforcement found more illicit material during a search of his Manhattan apartment. Lanvin admitted to owning the Google account and accessing child pornography, which he also accessed using a Department of Education device. He was charged with two counts of possession of child pornography, which could result in a maximum sentence of 20 years in prison. Released on a $75,000 bond, Lanvin is due back in court in March 2025, as the investigation continues.
