Orcas Attack British Yacht in Gibraltar

A British yacht named Bonhomme William sank after being attacked by a pod of five orcas in the Strait of Gibraltar. The vessel's steering was disabled during the incident, leading to it taking on water and ultimately capsizing. Robert Powell, the yacht's owner, documented the distressing event on social media, emphasizing that it was not a playful interaction but a 'well-orchestrated and organized attack' by the orcas. Spanish coastguards rescued Powell and his two crew members, who were reported to be safe despite the sinking. This incident is part of a series of orca attacks in the region, with previous reports dating back to 2020, and the notorious orca named 'White Gladis' is believed to be leading these attacks.
